They will be under tutelage of coaches Julio Mendieta and Vladimir Molina, who will not be able to count this time on figures like Alejandro Valdes, twice world bronze medalist, who is competing in the German Bundesliga contest.
Mendieta told ACN that from April 18-21 they will be attending the continental championship, which grants tickets to the Pan American Games in Lima, to take place on July and August this year.
Meanwhile, the women´s squad includes Laura Herin (53), Dayselis Rodriguez (59), Yakelin Stornell (62), Yudaris Sanchez (68), Milaymis Marin (72) and Mabelkis Capote (76).
The great absentee of that list will be the universal bronze medalist Lianna Montero, who is recovering from a disease that has not allowed her to train normally, although she already performs exercises in the gym.
In the 2018 edition, Cuba won three bronze medals on Russian soil through Stornell, Sanchez and Montero.
