HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 21 (acn) The soccer stadium Antonio Maceo, in the Cuban province of Santiago de Cuba, known as the headquarters of the double monarch of the country, undergoes a capital repair with the aim of putting into operation an artificial turf.
Authorities of the provincial Sports Institute (INDER) assured the investment concludes next March and it also includes the renovation of the building that hosts offices, bedrooms and dressing rooms.
This modern surface was donated by FIFA, as part of the Goal Project, and the Greanfields Company is responsible for finally placing the artificial turf.
FIFA verifies every week the works that include the installation of a digital scoreboard, as well as revitalizing artificial lighting.
The Antonio Maceo Stadium was built in 1990 and will be the second soccer artificial turf in Cuba.
