Eight Cubans to participate in Judo Grand Slam of OsakaHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 13 (acn) Cuba will be represented by four women and four men in the Judo Grand Slam of Osaka, Japan, scheduled for next November 23-25, to be attended by 478 athletes from 79 countries.

The Cuban delegation is headed by woman Idalis Ortiz (+78 kilos) and man Ivan Silva (90), runners-up in the Baku 2018 World Cup.
The women's team is completed by Anaili Dorvigni (57), Maylin del Toro (63) and Kaliema Antomarchi (78), all coached by Yordanis Arencibia.
The men´s squad, under Coach Julio Alderete, also includes Alberto Almenares (60), Osniel Solis (66) and Andy Granda (+100), the latter ranked fifth in the 2017 World Open of Marrakech, Morocco, contest in which Ortiz finished third.
Cuba´s best judokas in the world ranking are Ortiz, who appears fourth, and Silva (fifth), according to the International Judo Federation (IJF) website.
The list continues with Antomarchi (10), Solis (19), del Toro (22), Granda (24), Dorvigni (65) and Almenares (68).
