Cuba to host International Baseball Five Tournament

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 17 (acn) Cuba will host an International Baseball Five Tournament, next October 24 and 25, at Havana´s Sports City Coliseum.

According to PhD. Eros Bernal, national coordinator of this sport and one of the organizers of the contest, teams from France, Jamaica and Nicaragua, as well as Cuba, have already confirmed their attendance.
There will be three events: men´s, women´s and mixed and France, Nicaragua and the locals will compete in all the modalities, while Jamaicans will only participate in the men's contest.
The tournament will be attended by Didier Seminet, president of the French Federation of Baseball and Softball (FFBS by its French acronym) and member of the commission of this sport in the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC).
The International Baseball Five Tournament will hold with the aim of encouraging and massifying this new sport in the world and it is sponsored by the WBSC, which supports Cuba´s prestige in this new baseball modality.
