Cuban judokas to debut in Grand Prix Cancun 2018

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 12 (acn) Cuba will debut today with two athletes at the IJF Grand Prix Cancun 2018 Judo Festival, in Mexico.

According to the website of the contest, the first Cubans to see action will be the woman Anailys Dorvigne, in the 57 kilograms division, and the man Osniel Solis (66).
The rest of the Cuban women´s squad is made up by Maylin del Toro (63), Kaliema Antomarchi (78) and Idalis Ortiz (+78), while the men´s side also includes Magdiel Estrada (73), Ivan Silva (90) and Andy Granda (+100).
Ortiz and Silva, silver medalists in the recently concluded World Championships of Baku, Azerbaijan, are Cuba´s best trump cards on Mexican soil.
This major competition running until October 14th will be attended by 321 judokas from 46 countries (175 men and 146 women).
