Four Cuban basketball players sign contracts to play abroad

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 28 (acn) Cuban pivot Javier Justiz signed a contract with the club Zaragoza, belonging to Spain´s basketball top division known as ACB, while PF Jasiel Rivero, F Karel Guzman and F Yoanki Mensia will play again with squads from the Argentine League.

Justiz, 25, departed today to join his new team after having excellent performance last year in Argentina as he even won the scepter with the San Lorenzo de Almagro and he told ACN that he has great expectations for this opportunity in the European country.
On the other hand, Rivero signed his transaction with the Club Atletico Boca Juniors while Guzman and Mensia did it with the Club Ciclista Olimpico, all in the South American country to which they return although in different sides.
Guzman (23) was required again for his good performances after playing the quarterfinals last season with the Olimpico and Mensia (21) will accompany him in this squad after having played last year in the U23 division with the team Gimnasia y Esgrima, while Rivero (25) expressed his satisfaction by being hired by a club which will definitively fight for being included in the top four of the tournament.
Dalia Henry, Cuba´s National Basketball Commissioner, congratulated the four of them for being the essential base of the national team that won the bronze medal in the recently concluded 23rd Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla, Colombia.
