Cuba U18 volleyball team will play against Costa Rica

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 28 (acn) Cuba will seek its second victory today in the 2018 NORCECA U18 Girls´ Youth Continental Championship based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from August 27th to September 2nd when facing Costa Rica.

According to the website of the tournament, which grants one ticket to the 2019 World Cup, today's program also includes the matches Dominican Republic-Canada, also in Group A, and the United States-Barbados and Honduras-Nicaragua, in Poole B.
Cuba debuted on Monday with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20 and 25-20) victory over Canada, while the DR beat 3-0 (25-12, 25-15 and 25-13) Costa Rica, United States overwhelmed 3-0 (25-6, 25-11 and 25-12) and Nicaragua defeated Barbados 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-22).
The best team of each Poole will advance directly to semifinals this Friday, while those ranking second and third will play the quarterfinals on Thursday.
The all-time medal table of the NORCECA U18 Girls´ Continental Championship is led by USA with seven crowns (1998, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012), followed by the DR with two (2014 and 2016) and Puerto Rico, who won the scepter in the second edition in 2000.
