HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 27 (acn) Cuban Fernando D. Jorge won his second medal in the 2018 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships held in the Portuguese city of Montemor-o- Velho.
Jorge ranked second in the C-1 5000 meters event with time of 23: 46.646 minutes, only surpassed by German Sebastian Brendel (23: 40.857) and ahead of Russian Kiril Shamshurin (24: 09.504).
This was Jorge´s second medal in this tournament as he previously was also runner-up, along with teammate Serguey Torres, in the C-2 1000m event.
This tough contest was attended by some thousand men and women from more than 80 nations.
