HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 31 (acn) I told mom to look for another nail to add a new gold medal on the wall, because I will bring it from the Central American and Caribbean Games, in Barranquilla.
The one who said this to ACN was the Greco-Roman wrestler triple Olympic monarch and five-time world champion Mijain Lopez (130 kg) after winning yesterday his second scepter in these competitions.
Lopez noted this was not a tough contest, that he was only concerned about not having weight problems and that he achieved the goal of taking it as a step to Tokyo 2020, where he will try to win his fourth Olympic crown.
The Cuban giant confirmed that he will not attend the World Championship in the coming month of October.
I am going to rest in August and in September I´ll go back to training, to rejoin the German Bundesliga. Oscar Pino will be my replacement in the world cup; but I do intend to attend the 2019 Pan American Games of Lima, Peru, and from there I´ll continue training for the Tokyo Olympics, he added.
