Cuban Ballplayers´ Performance in Japanese Professional Baseball

HAVANA, Cuba, May 29 (acn) Cuban Alfredo Despaigne hit his 12th homerun this season in the Japanese Professional Baseball League (NPB).

This was Despaigne´s 101st homer since he arrived in NPB in 2014 and also amounts 29 RBIs this season.
However, this didn't prevent the 4-8 loss of his team, the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.
The Hawks, current NPB champions, appear third in the Pacific League, with 23 wins and same number of losses, four and a half games behind the leaders of the Saitama Seibu Lions (27-18).
The Cuban slugger increased his offensive line to 216-338-469 (AVE-OBP-SLU), with 16 extra-bases, 38 strikeouts and 30 walks.
On the other hand, the also Cuban Livan Moinelo allowed one run and two hits in two thirds of an inning in his last outing.
The lefty reliever has allowed runs in his last four performances, and now his ERA is of 4.26.
His performance this season includes 9 earned runs in 19 innings, with 28 strikeouts and 11 walks, while he also allowed three homers in 22 outings as setupper.
The other Cuban who plays in this team, IF Yurisbel Gracial, has not played since last Thursday due to an injury on a finger of his left hand, so he maintains BA of .300.
