Cuban rower Fournier to participate in World Cup

HAVANA, Cuba, May 25 (acn) Cuban Angel Fournier, finalist of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, will compete in the 2018 World Rowing Cup 1st, to take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from June 1-3.

His main purpose will be to continue training focused on the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018, scheduled for July 19 to August 3.
Prior to the regional contest, Fournier will also attend the second stage of the World Cup, based in Linz, Austria, from June 21 to 24, but will not be able to attend the third one, scheduled for Lucerne, Switzerland, from July 13 to 15, as it coincides with the Barranquilla games.
After Barranquilla, he will compete in the Rowing World Championship of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from next September 8-16.
Cuba starred a perfect performance in the rowing event of Veracruz 2014, previous edition of the Central American and Caribbean Games, as they won the 10 gold medals in contention.
