Cuban women sweep in 2018 Pan-American Road Cycling ChampionshipsHAVANA, Cuba, May 7 (acn) Led by Arlenis Sierra, Cuba had a perfect performance in the last day of the 2018 Pan-American Road Cycling Championships that took place in San Juan, Argentina.

Sierra, 25, was escorted in the awards podium by her teammates Iraida García and Marlies Mejias, all with the same time of 1:58:30 hours.
The also Cubans Claudia Baro and Yudelmis Dominguez finished 4th and 5 th, in that order, and after this performance Baro won the U23 event.
This is an unprecedented performance by the Cuban side in these continental competitions, as its other contestant, Mailin Sanchez, ranked eighth.
This an excellent news for the objectives of the Caribbean island with view to the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018, which road and track cycling competitions will have stage in the city of Cali.
