Cuban beach volleyball duos to compete in MexicoHAVANA, Cuba, Apr 13 (acn) The Cuban duos made up by Karell Peña and Daisel Quesada, and Leila Martinez and Maylen Delis will compete from today and until next Sunday in the North, Central American and Caribbean (NORCECA) beach volleyball circuit, based in the island of San Marcos, Mexico.

According to the official website of the event, the tournament will be attended by teams from 13 countries, divided into 16 pairs of each sex.

The favorites in the men´s event are Canada, United States, Mexico and especially Cuba, mainly because Peña accumulates 10 gold medals in these contests, the last five along with Quesada.

They are the current NORCECA champions as they won last season three consecutive titles in La Paz, the Virgin Islands and Jamaica.

After competing in Mexico, both Cuban duos will come back to Havana, to attend from April 25-30 the third stop of the circuit to be held in Varadero Beach.
