HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 28 (acn) Cuban Javier Justiz became champion of the 11th FIBA Americas Basketball League with the Argentine club San Lorenzo de Almagro, which won for the first time this continental tournament.
In the final, San Lorenzo defeated 79-71 (40-38) Brazil´s Mogi das Cruzes, thus providing Argentina an elusive title in the last seven years.
The pivot Justiz, 25 years old and 2.11 m tall, did not played so well in the final, although he contributed to the win of his team by scoring eight points and grabbing five rebounds.

The hero of the game was 23-year-old Gabriel Deck, who scored 22 units, with 10 rebounds and 2 assists, enough to earn the MVP award of the tournament.
In the bronze medal match, Regatas Corrientes won 60-59, in an Argentine duel, over Estudiantes Concordia, club where the also Cuban Jasiel Rivero plays.
