HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 19 (acn) Cuba won three crowns through their pairs in the 19th edition of the Giraldilla de la Habana International Badminton Tournament.
All those three finals were between local players and the first winners were Osleni Guerrero and Leodannis Martinez, who beat 2-0 (21-10 and 21-16) Ernesto Reyes and Lazaro Madera in the men´s doubles event.
Guerrero added another gold medal when defeating, along with Adriana Artiz, 2-1 (13-21, 21-13 and 21-19) Martinez and Thaimara Oropesa, in the mixed doubles final.
Meanwhile, in the women´s doubles, Oropesa and Thalia Mengana won, in an extremely hard-fought match, 2-1 (21-19, 19-21 and 21-19) over their teammates Artiz and Yeily Ortiz.
The other champions of the contest were Canadian Xiadong Sheng (men´s single) and American Crystal Pan (women´s single), according to the official website of the tournament.
The 19th Giraldilla de la Habana International Badminton Tournament granted 1,700 points to the world ranking to the winners of each of its five events.
