Malian sports officials visit Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 16 (acn) Jean Claude Sidibe, Mali´s Minister of Sports, and Habib Sissoko, President of the Olympic Committee of that African nation, began an official visit to Cuba to strengthen the historic ties of bilateral collaboration.

"Both countries maintain a strong cooperation in some sectors, but in sports we have a group of highly qualified Cuban specialists providing their knowledge in various Malian institutions," said Sidibe.
Meanwhile, Sissoko, who has been on the Caribbean island on previous occasions, confirmed that this visit will allow to closer exchange with the Cuban Olympic Committee and hold a meeting with its president, Jose Ramon Fernandez, whom he met in international forums.
The program of activities during their stay, which will run until next Monday, includes tours by scientific institutions such as the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sports, Higher Training Schools for High Performance Athletes and meetings with executives of Cubadeportes S.A. Company and the modern Anti-Doping Laboratory.
