Cuban Athlete to Compete in the Central American and Caribbean Triathlon Championship

Cuban Athlete to Compete in the Central American and Caribbean Triathlon ChampionshipHAVANA, Cuba, Feb 16 (ACN) Cuban athlete Daniela Ciara Vega will compete this weekend in Barbados in the Central American and Caribbean Triathlon Championship.

Ciara Vega will participate in the competition with the objective of adding points for the ranking of the International and Continental Federation, according to a report on JIT sports website.

The national Sub-champion is the only triathlon athlete in Cuba without any units in the list worldwide, although she is among the candidates to participate in the Central American and Caribbean Games scheduled from July 19th to August 3 in Barranquilla, Colombia.

The Caribbean island will have a trio of athletes both in the women and men's category although currently the island has five men and four women in the pre-selection team.

Michel Gonzalez, Conrado Alejandro Martinez, Victor Manuel Herrera, Felix Dariel and Yordan Diaz are the men on the list while the women are in addition to Ciara Vega, Leslie Amat Pan American Cup champion in Vargas, Venezuela, Tania Rizo and Beatriz Esther Marino.

All of the athletes will participate in the Ibero-American Triathlon Championships to be held February 24th and 25th in Havana.

This competition will have over 400 triathlon athletes from 35 countries.
