Best Slugger of Japanese Baseball will join his Cuban Team for the Playoffs

GRANMA, Cuba, Nov 21 (acn) Alfredo Despaigne, who recently became champion of the Japanese Professional Baseball League (NPB by its Spanish acronym), will join Granma in the playoffs to help the team to conquer its second consecutive title in the Cuban National Series.

The outstanding athlete, leader this season in home runs and RBIs in the NPB Pacific League, said he hopes Granma to get the ticket to the decisive stage without great difficulties as they are playing so well right now.
He added he will rest for some time as he played more than 100 games in Japan this year to then join the squad if reaching the postseason.
In the recent NPB campaign, the Cuban slugger –who debuted in 2014 with the Chiba Lotte Marines but now plays for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks- achieved his best individual performance in a regular stage in homers (35) and RBIs (103).
The powerful hitter, who holds the homeruns record in World Baseball Classics, stated that being champion with Granma and the Hawks has been the greatest of his career, so he will try to achieve it again, with his teammates.
