HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 20 (acn) Puerto Rican Victor Lopez, president of the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC), attended the 31st edition of Marabana, Cuba's main marathon race that was attended by more than five thousand runners.
NACAC awarded this year the medalists of the half marathon (21 kilometers), both in the individual and team events, of the prestigious race which takes place each November in the Cuban capital.
Lopez told ACN that the idea is to include this competition in the list of established races for first-level athletes in Central America and the Caribbean to participate in coming editions.
Our goal is the Marabana half marathon event to be attended by the most emblematic athletes from 10 to 15 countries of NACAC area, which would give greater quality to the race, Lopez added.
