HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 14 (acn) 2B Jorge Aloma hit a decisive home run in the 6-5 win of his team, Artemisa, over Industriales in the second stage of the Cuban National Baseball Series.
Artemisa was losing 2-5 on top of the eighth inning when they scored four runs, including Aloma´s 3-run homer off reliever and loser Alexander Rodriguez.
The winning side batted 16 hits and its best batter was 1B Yariel Duque, who hit 3 for 4, including a solo homer, while the win went to the also reliever Roilandy Rodriguez and closer José Angel Garcia earned his 17th save of the season, leader.
Meanwhile, Matanzas beat away 5-4 Pinar del Río despite batting only five hits against three opponent pitchers.
Catcher Osvaldo Vazquez hit a decisive 2-RBI double and reliever Yanier Blanco got the win, while the also reliever Frank Luis Medina took the loss.
The Las Tunas-Granma match couldn´t be played due to rain.
