HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 19 (acn) Cuban forward Leydis Oquendo will join the Salvadoran basketball team of Santa Tecla.
Oquendo, 35, is a very seasoned player and she has spent 17 years in the Cuban national squad.
She said she was hired because of her experience and ability in the long range shots, especially three-pointers.
Also, point guard Ineidis Casanova renewed contract with the Brazilian club of Uninassau Pernambuco.
Last season, Casanova earned the award as leader in assists in the Brazilian League by her average of 5.1 per game.
This will be Casanova´s third season in the women´s professional basketball league of the South American country.
