HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 28 (acn) Las Tunas beat away 8-3 Artemisa and climbed to the top of the 57th Cuban National Baseball Series, which 14th subseries started this Wednesday.
The now leaders scored five runs in the very first inning, including Yunier Rondon´s inside-the-park grand slam, which were enough to reach the win.
Meanwhile, Industriales defeated Holguin 8-7 and thus tied in second place with Pinar del Rio, who could not face Matanzas because of the rain, and they will hold a double header today.
Industriales batted 13 hits, including a home run by 1B Alexander Malleta and there were also offensive highlight to outfielder Jorge Tartabull, who hit 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.
The win went to reliever Alexander Rodriguez, who did not allow runs in three innings and struck out three opponents.
