Cuban Heptathlonist wins Bronze Medal in FranceHAVANA, Cuba, Sep 18 (acn) Cuban Yorgelis Rodriguez closed the season winning the bronze medal at the Decastar meeting, based in the French town of Talence, final act of the 2017 IAAF Combined Events Challenge.

Heptathlonist Rodriguez, who ranked fourth in the World Championship with stage in London, England, last August, and Toronto 2015 Pan American champion, scored 6,126 points in the grueling event, which was enough to climb to the awards podium.
The event was won by Dutch Anouk Vetter (6,363), bronze medalist in the recently concluded London WC, while Hungarian Xenia Kriszan (6,282) finished second, according to IAAF official website.
In London WC, Rodriguez totaled 6,594 units, thus setting her personal best and a national record, performance that was only 42 points shy from Vetter (6,636), eventually bronze medalist.
