Havana´s futsal team to face Mexico´s Sidekicks

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 21 (acn) The squad of Havana, reinforced with players from other Cuban provinces, will face Mexico´s Sidekicks when debuting in the second CONCACAF Futsal Club Championship, based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

The Cubans already know this Mexican team, as it beat them 2-1 in penalties in their first participation in these tournaments, in 2014, when they finished fourth. That game had ended 1-1 in regular time.
The Cuban roster includes goalkeepers Nelson Jhonston and Yasmani Martinez; defenders Andy Baquero and Daniel Hernandez; Alejandro Marrero, Edgar Castillo, Diego Ramirez, Lazaro Peña, Sandy Dominguez and Karel Mariño as wings; while the pivots are Dagoberto Quesada and Luis Orlando Jerez.
The Grupo Line Futsal, from Costa Rica, and Canada´s Sporting Outlaws complete Group B along with Cubans and Mexicans, while Poole A includes the local side of the UPNFM, the FAX Futsal, from Guadeloupe, the Salvadoran team of Soyapango and the Americans Elite Futsal,
The top two teams of each group advance to semifinals and the winners in that stage will contend for the title, while the losers will play for the bronze medal.
