Cuban Baseball: Ciego de Ávila, Las Tunas and Pinar del Rio remain unbeatenHAVANA, Cuba, Aug 11 (acn) Ciego de Ávila, Las Tunas and Pinar del Rio remain unbeaten after winning their respective games on Thursday, at the start of the second subseries of the 57th Cuban National Baseball Series.

Ciego de Avila defeated away 7-3 Sancti Spíritus at Jose Antonio Huelga Stadium and achieved their fourth consecutive win, while the losing side got their fourth loss in a row.
RF Abdel Civil offensively stood out by the winners by hitting 2 for 5, with a double and three RBIs.
Meanwhile, and also as visitors, Las Tunas beat 11-5 Granma, current monarch, at Martires de Barbados ballpark, with highlight to veteran Danel Castro who batted 3 for 5, including a home run and five RBIs, and catcher Yosvani Alarcon who also homered.
And Pinar del Rio won 6-2 over Isla de la Juventud with CF Reinier León hitting 3 for 4 to support Yoandy Cruz´s pitching performance, who allowed only one run in six innings.
In other results, Industriales beat 10-1 Cienfuegos with a ruthless attack of 16 hits; Santiago de Cuba won 7-5 over Villa Clara and Camagüey got its first win when defeating 3-1 Matanzas.
In addition, Guantánamo was better than Holguín (3-2) and Artemisa surpassed Mayabeque with the same score
