HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 9 (acn) The Cuban men's basketball team obtained its second victory against the University of Louisville 81 to 71 in a friendly game that was held at Havana's Sports City Coliseum. Scored 24 points, followed by Karel Guzman
The Cuban squad was superior with their throws when Jasiel Rivero scored 24 points followed by Karel Guzman (18) and Neisler Abreu (14).
For the US team Jonathan Stove got 18 points and Malik Marquetti scored 13.
Cuba achieved good effectivity in their two point shots 21\\42 and 8\\18 from the three-point zone.
Yoanis Zadivar, technical director of the host team told ACN that it was great to get the second victory especially when he included players from the bench that are obtaining experience for future tournaments.
He added that these exchanges are very important to continue working and correcting mistakes, while highlighting group work and harmony among the players.
He also mentioned that despite the young players of the US team, their tactics are well organized and have many are excellent in throwing the three-point perimeter.
The Cuban coach said that this is something the team must improve, have the taller players throw from that zone, something normal in modern basketball.
The Cuba team will meet the University of Louisville in the third game of a series of friendly matches.
