Miguel Diaz-Canel Inaugurates Boxing GymnasiumHAVANA, Cuba, Aug 8 (acn) Cuba's First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel inaugurated on Tuesday in Havana a modern boxing gymnasium close to the Pan American Stadium located east of the Cuban capital.

This new installation destined for young boxers was included in the working agenda of the Cuban Sports Institute as part of the rehabilitation and maintenance of its sports facilities across the island.

The boxing jewel has all the necessary conditions of a first world gymnasium with three boxing rings, physiotherapy center, different apparatus for training among others.

The sports movement is currently undergoing an interesting phase of development with new generations of athletes, especially in boxing with good results in international events and this gymnasium is a sense of pride, said the President of the Cuban Olympic Committee, Jose Ramon Fernandez.

Three times world and Olympic champ in the 81 kilogram division, Julio Cesar la Cruz, said this installation will be important for the reserve of new boxers whose mission is to continue the legacy of the Cuban boxing champions.
