Cuba beat Egypt in FIVB U-20 Women´s World Championship

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 21 (acn) Cuba beat Egypt and ranked third in Group H and will fight today for the 13th seat of the FIVB U-20 Women´s World Championship taking place in the Mexican cities of Boca del Rio and Córdoba.

This was Cuba´s first win in the contest, and they won 3-0 (25-19, 25-22 and 25-15) and the leading scorers of the match were Ailama Cesé (16), Diaris Perez (12), Dalila Palma (10), Yamisleydis Viltres and Jessica Aguilera (8 each).
According to the website of the contest, Nada Meawad (11) and Noura Moawad (7) highlighted for the losing side.
With this victory in its six outing, Cubans will have the option of facing a rival from Poole G to fight for the thirteenth spot, and if losing they can aspire to the 15th seat.
In the first round, the Caribbean island was included in Group C and lost to Serbia (2-3), the United States (0-3) and Brazil (2-3), and in the second stage they lost by injury their best player, outside hitter Heidy Casanova, who by that time ranked second among leading scorers.
In the second round (Poole H), they were also defeated by the Dominican Republic and Italy, 0-3 in both cases.
