HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 19 (acn) Cuba will face Italy today in the second match for group H of the FIVB U20 Women´s World Championship running until next Sunday in Mexico.
After losing on Tuesday 0-3 (18-25, 17-25 and 16-25) to the Dominican Republic, Cubans will try to achieve their first win in the second round of the tournament, where they are fighting for the positions from ninth to sixteenth.
This was Cuba´s fourth loss since they finished last in Poole C of the qualifying stage, with 2-3, 0-3 and 2-3 defeats to Serbia, the United States and Brazil respectively.
According to the website of the event, Cuba´s final rival will be Egypt, which lost on Tuesday 0-3 (17-25, 17-25 and 6-25) to Italy.
Today´s other match in Group H will be between Dominicans and Egyptians.
Poole G of the contest, group with similar purpose then the one of Cuba, includes Argentina, Mexico, Peru and Serbia.
Brazil, Poland, Russia and Turkey, in Group E, and Bulgaria, China, Japan and the United States, in Poole F, contend for the first to eighth seats.
