Cuba to face Russia in Men's U21 Volleyball World Championship

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 30 (acn) Cuba will face Russia on Saturday in the semi-finals of the 19th edition of the Men's U21 Volleyball World Championship, which will conclude on Sunday in the Czech cities of Brno and Ceske Budejovice.

The other semifinal will be between Brazil and Poland.
The latter and Russia led Pooles E and F (second round), with three wins without losses, followed by Cuba (2-1) and Brazil (2-1), respectively.
On Thursday, Poles, Cubans and Russians defeated 3-2 (27-25, 25-21, 20-25, 20-25 and 15-11), 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 24-26 and 27-25) and 3-2 (25-20, 21-25, 30-28, 19-25 and 17-15) Iran, China and Brazilians, in that order.
Iran and China (3rd and 4th in group E) and Canada and Argentina (F) will fight for the seats from fifth to eighth, according to the website of the contest.
