Havana, Cuba, Jun 29 (ACN) Cuba and Burkina Faso signed on Thursday in Havana a cooperation accord with the objective of promoting bilateral relations in sports.
Cuba's President of the National Sports, Physical Education and Recreation Institute (INDER), Antonio Becali Garrido said after signing the agreement that it was a historical moment for both nations and thanked the African nation's interest in choosing Cuba for the sports cooperation.
Burkina Faso's Minister of Sports and Recreation, Tahirou Bangre thanked Cuba's years of support with the presence of trainers in the modalities of athletics, basketball, boxing and handball as well as students from that African nation training in Cuban universities.
The agreement includes exchanges of delegations, trainers and specialists in addition to applied sciences.
The accord also includes carrying out activities among them, organization of programs, installations and sporting equipment, formation and updating trainers and specialists, sports medicine, sports for all and anti-doping control among others.
The two sides committed in elaborating and coordinating actions each year to carry out sports and recreation projects, according to agreed plans and programs for the national federations of each country.
