Cuba lose 3-4 to New Jersey JackalsHAVANA, Cuba, Jun 23 (acn) Cuba suffered its 11th loss when falling 3-4 to the New Jersey Jackals in the Can-Am Independent Baseball League.

Cubans opened the score in the third inning when SS Raul Gonzalez hit a solo homer off the winner Isaac Pavlik, but the locals tied in that same frame through solo homer by 1B Conrad Gregor off Cuban starting pitcher Dachel Duquesne.
In the fourth, the Caribbean side took the lead thanks to an RBI-ground to SS by 2B Juan Carlos Torriente, who was Cuba´s best batter when hitting 3 for 4.
But in the bottom of that inning, the Jackals leveled the score again mainly due to a costly error by Cuban catcher Ariel Martinez.
Cuba broke the tie in the sixth thanks to an error by local shortstop and the score was 3-2.
The loss went to reliever Frank Medina who allowed two runs in two innings.
Today, in the second of four games scheduled against the New Jersey team, Cuba´s starting pitcher could be right-handed Vladimir Baños.
So far, the Caribbean squad has balance of 4 wins and 11 losses.
