Cuba loses to Colombia in first leg of WSB semifinalsHAVANA, Cuba, May 5 (acn) The Cuba Domadores lost 2-3 to the Colombia Heroicos in the away semifinal round of the 7th World Series of Boxing (WSB), in the town of Soledad.

In the first bout of the night, in the C-1 format, Dominican Leonel de los Santos, local reinforcement, beat 3-0 Cuban world youth champion Javier Ibañez in the 56 kg division, mainly due to his higher reach.
Then, Cubans tied the match through Andy Cruz (64), who defeated 3-0 the also Dominican Elvis Rodriguez.
The surprise of the day came then when the world and Olympic champion Arlen Lopez (75) fell again against Jorge Luis Vivas, now 3-0.
Lopez barely fought, missed a lot in his punching and was an easy prey for his opponent, thus achieving his third loss in a row this season.
After that, Cuba again leveled the match with the fists of the world runner-up Erislandy Savon (91), who took revenge over Delvis Julio by winning 2-1.
Finally, the talented Jorge Griñan (49), 2016 world youth champion, was overcome by the best technical arsenal and the speed of legs and hands of Olympic runner-up Yuberjen Martinez, who deserved a 3-0 verdict by judges.
The home match will take place next May 9th, at Havana Sports City Coliseum.
