Cuban athletes to participate in Diamond League next weekHAVANA, Cuba, Jun 1 (acn) Cuban athletes will attend important competitions this month, including the fourth stop of the Diamond League based in Rome, Italy, on June 8th.

In that strong contest, Cuba will be represented by four athletes, in a list headed by Dayron Robles, Beijing 2008 Olympic champion, and Yarisley Silva, silver medalist in London 2012 Olympics.
Robles, 110-meter hurdles, and Silva, women´s pole vault, will be two of the exponents that will honor that event and in both cases will look for the records that will earn them tickets to the World Championship, which will host London, England, from next August 4 to 13.
Women´s triple jumper Liadagmis Povea and sprinter Roberto Skyers, who is expected to participate in the men´s 100 and 200 meters, according to the National Athletic Commission, will also compete on Italian soil.
In addition, the fifth stop of the Diamond League will be hold in Oslo, Norway, on June 15th, while on the 18th there will be action in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Caribbean island will be represented in Norwegian territory by women´s discus throwers Denia Caballero and Yaime Perez, along with Silva, who won the bronze medal in Doha, Qatar, in the first stop of the Diamond League.
The three of them will repeat in Stockholm, accompanied by Robles.
Finally, Cubans will also attend several tournaments in Europe, such as those of Turkus, on the 13th, Huelva (14), Bratislava (17), Ratingen and Bilbao (24), and Ostrava on June 28.
