Cuba wins Cayman U15 Youth Football Cup

HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (acn) Cuban national team won the Cayman Airways Invitational U15 Youth Football Cup when beating 2-1 their British counterpart of Manchester City, to whom they lost last year´s final.

The English side took the lead after five minutes in the second half through Max Bardell, but Cubans managed to equalize two minutes later thanks to Yasniel Rodriguez.
The Caribbean squad avenged its loss a year ago when Anderson Cabello scored the winner at 66th minute.
In addition, Cuba's captain, York Gonzales, was named the tournament MVP, while his teammate Jarion Gonzalez won the Golden Glove Award as best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Cuba´s overall balance in the cup was of four wins and one draw, with 20 for and 5 against goals.
The Cavaliers SC, from Jamaica, ranked third after defeating 3-0 IMG Academy (USA), also on Sunday.
The West Bay Sports Foundation (WBSF), contest organizer, is already planning next year´s edition of this event which was attended this time by 12 teams from USA, UK, Honduras, Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba and the hosts.
