Cuba´s Domadores with top stars against Uzbek Tigers

HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (acn) The Cuba Domadores, current champion, will use their C-1 format leading figures to face away next Saturday the Uzbek Tigers in the opening of the quarter-finals of the World Series of Boxing (WSB).

But even so, the match against the Asian opponents after last year's Olympic Games will be a high tension challenge for the Cuban squad, led by the Rio 2016 Olympic champion Arlen Lopez (75 kg).
Cuba´s four other boxers for this match are the Olympic bronze medalist Erislandy Savón (91), world monarch Johanys Argilagos (49), Pan American champion Andy Cruz (64) and the 2014 universal junior monarch Javier Ibáñez (56).
Although they have not yet made official their list, the host team could make use of consecrated athletes as the Rio 2016 medalists Khasanbay Dusmatov (49) and Fazliddin Gaibnazarov (64), both champions; the runner-up Bektemir Melikuziyev (75); and Muradzhon Akhmadaliyev (56) and Rustam Tulaganov (91), who both ranked third in the Brazilian Olympics.
The Tigers-Domadores match will be defined on May 19th, at Havana Sports City Coliseum, with actions in the C-2 format (52, 60, 69, 81 and +91 kg) and an additional bout in the last of those divisions in case of tie.
