HAVANA, Cuba, May 5 (acn) Representatives of Cuba and Vietnam held a meeting in Hanoi, capital of that Asian country, in order to increase the sporting collaboration between them, where the host party called for a greater exchange of coaches and experts.
The issue was addressed by Tran Duc Phan, deputy director of Vietnam´s General Department of Sports, and Yamel Ruiz, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in that nation.
Vietnam hopes to receive Cuba´s assistance in sports such as boxing and athletics, as well as sports medicine, in the context of preparations for the 18th Asian Games to be hosted by Indonesia next year, in addition to an increase of the participation in symposia, conferences and courses, as well as in friendly tournaments organized in the two countries.
The Vietnamese official also expressed the hope for Cuba to assist them in the rehabilitation of athletes in some combat sports with a high probability of injury, in addition to the training on human resources.
Meanwhile, Ruiz said his country will send to that Asian nation two coaches of volleyball and equal number in boxing, along with a specialist of sport medicine.
