Cuban Despaigne ranks Third in RBIs in Japanese Professional Baseball League

HAVANA, Cuba, May 3 (acn) Cuban Alfredo Despaigne hit 1 for 4 and drove in two runs to help the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks to beat 14-4 the Seibu Lions on the Japanese professional baseball league (NPB).
Despaigne now amounts 20 RBIs and ranks third of that stat in the Pacific League.

On Tuesday he played as DH and batted eighth in the lineup, although he appears second in homeruns among Latino players with five, behind Dominican Carlos Peguero (Rakuten Golden Eagles) who totals 7 homers.
His last homerun, the day before, was a walk-off homer which allowed his team to defeat 2-1 the Seibu Lions.
The Cuban slugger now has batting average (BA) of .250 after 27 games.
That fifth homer was the 59th in his career in Japan, as he hit 12 in his first season with the Chiba Lotte Marines, 18 in the second year and 24 in the third and precedent campaign.
Taking into account the RBIs in NPB, he accumulated 33 in his debut, 62 the following year and 92 in 2016, all with the Marines.
