Artemisa, Cuba, Mar 31 (acn) Members of the Sub 18 baseball team from the province of Artemisa exchanged on Friday with their US counterparts from the state of Colorado, champions of the 14 to 18 year old league in 2016.
The US team made up by students from the Alexander Dawson School and the Cuban squad from the Sports Number 3 School took over the 26 of July Stadium in Artemisa held a what they called a sports clinic and had as guests baseball players between the ages of 8 and 9.
The main objective was the revision of the methodology of batting, fielding and blocking a ball by a catcher, which is an experience that allows an evaluation of the technical-tactical action of the athletes, reported to the Cuban News Agency, Carlos Morales, Sports Director at the Municipality of Artemisa.
Morales stressed that this joint work helped demonstrate the early abilities of the athletes from Artemisa, who showed technical control and wee praised by the US guests.
Dennis Edgardovich Carulla, member of the lodging directive of the National Flora and Fauna Office in the territory said that these types of exchanges are made possible thanks to the Rustic Pathways Agency, that integrates services of education and adventure with travel programs for students around the world.
He added that the visit of the US youth to Cuba has been carried out from a philanthropic and cultural perspective that favor its connection with different groups with common interests in an environment of solidarity and goodwill.
