HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 23 (acn) Villa Clara defeated 76-75 Capitalinos, thus maintaining its unbeaten condition in the Cuban Men´s Basketball Superior League (LSB by its Spanish acronym), tournament which second stage takes place in Havana.
The Wolves were able to overcome an eight-point deficit in the first half to reach their eleventh consecutive win in the contest.
Andy Boffil, with 27 points, was the scoring leader of the winners and this time was seconded by Neisler Abreu (14), while Jasiel Rivero (20) and Arlen Alorda (16) stood out for Capitalinos.
With that result Villa Clara (11-0) tops the standings, followed by Pinar del Rio (8-1), Capitalinos and Matanzas (6-5), Camagüey (5-5), Santiago de Cuba (4-6), Ciego de Ávila (1-9) and Guantanamo (0-10), according to the official website of the tournament.
It is worth noting that Ciego de Avila, current champion, has only managed to reach one win in this event.
