Playoff game between Matanzas and Granma suspended by rainHAVANA, Cuba, Jan 9 (acn) The third game of one of the two postseason playoffs in Cuban baseball was suspended by rain when Granma was beating at home 11-3 Matanzas at Martires de Barbados ballpark.

Matanzas took the lead in the very first inning thanks to a two-run homer by first baseman William Saavedra, but Granma managed to score in each inning off eight opponent pitchers.
Granma´s offensive highlight included back to back homers by Carlos Benitez and Frank Morejon, Benitez drove in two more runs, and SS Yordan Manduley scored his 1000th hit in Cuban National Baseball Series, while Alfredo Despaigne, Granma´s cleanup hitter, walked fourth times, three intentionally.
Matanzas´ third run was driven in by third baseman Jefferson Delgado.
Noelvis Entenza, Granma´s starting pitcher, covered the six innings for his side allowing three runs with seven hits and two strikeouts.
As the rules of the championship establish for this stage, the game will be resumed today with the series tied 1-1.
