Granma sweeps Holguin in Cuban baseball

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 13 (acn) Granma swept Holguin in their particular sub-series that took place at Calixto Garcia Park when beating them 2-1 in the last match between them in this second stage of Cuban Baseball Championship.

Lefty Leandro Martinez starred a solid pitching performance when allowing only one earned run, a solo homer by Yeison Pacheco, and five hits in seven innings and took the win.
Villa Clara also swept their opponent, Camaguey, by winning 8-5 this time, mainly supported in Yanny Delgado´s three-scoreless-inning relief and the offensive by third baseman Yandrys Canto who hit 2 for 5 with two doubles and four RBIs.
Meanwhile, the champion Ciego de Ávila won the subseries over the leader Matanzas by defeating them with a score of 14-5, as a result of a brutal attack of 21 hits against six rival pitchers.
The win went to Vladimir Baños, who in six innings allowed seven hits and five runs (four earned), with five strikeouts and a walk.
