Cuban wrestlers start fighting in Azerbaijan Grand PrixHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 24 (acn) World and Olympic medalists will meet from today and until the 26th at the Azerbaijan-based Wrestling Grand Prix, which is attended by 15 Cubans, including four women.

With a stage at the Baku Sports Coliseum, this event will be the latest international competitive test for the Cuban athletes, who will have the chance to face some of the best wrestlers in the world.
The three Cubans who won medals in the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro, Mijain Lopez, Ismael Borrero and Yasmani Lugo, all in the Greco-Roman style, will not attend this contest, the latter due to an injury.
Lugo's substitute on Azeri soil will be Reinier Monteagudo, an athlete with several years in the national pre-selection.
Along with Monteagudo, in the 98 kilograms, the list of the Greco-Roman athletes is made up by Javier Duménigo (59), Miguel Martínez (66), Daniel Gregorich (85) and Oscar Pino (130).
Meanwhile, Eliecer Guevara (57), Yowlys Bonne (61), Alejandro Valdés (65), Liván López (74), Reineris Salas (97) and Yudelmis Alpajón (125) will be the Cuban representatives in the freestyle.
In addition, Lienna de la Caridad Montero (59), Yackelin Stornell (60), Katherine Vidiaux (63) and Yudaris Sánchez (69) are the Caribbean women attending the tournament in that European nation.
