Cuban boxer wins in debut at World Junior Boxing Championship

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 18 (acn) Featherweight Alexei Rodriguez beat Egyptian Omar Elsayed Ragab in Cuba´s debut at the World Junior Boxing Championship staged at the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
According to information released by the event organizers, Rodriguez won 5-0 (29-25, 29-26, 29-25, 29-26, 29-27) at the opening day of the contest hosted by the Sibur Room, with capacity for 7 000 people.
His next appearance will be next Saturday as the opponent of Indian Etash Khan Muhammed, who was bye in this first round.
The other Cuban fighting tomorrow will be the light heavyweight Osvary Morell, who will face Polish Michal Soczynski in a day with a program of 53 bouts distributed in two sessions.
