Cuban Mejias wins Two Events in the Colombia Women's TourHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 14 (acn) Cuban cyclist Marlies Mejías, who run invited for the Weber Shimano Ladies Power, won the points classification and the intermediate sprints events of the first edition of the Colombia Women's Tour with 55 and 47 units respectively.

The five-stage competition ended on Sunday and its winner was Colombian Ana Cristina Sanabria (Bogota Mejor para Todos) with time of 9:36:13 hours, while the Coldeportes Claro Zenu (29: 00.42) won the teams event.
According to the site www.clasificacionesdelciclismocolombiano.com, Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacon (Cycling Girls HYF Team) won the Queen of the Mountain award (QOM) after totaling 16 points.
Mejías will make official her contract with the Weber Shimano Ladies Power in January 2017, and she also excelled in the second and third stages of this contest when finishing first and second in that order.
In the individual classification, Mejías ranked 41st, in a Tour attended by more than 100 cyclists from 23 teams, mainly Colombians, but also with the presence of foreign athletes.
