Cuban Mejias to participate in Colombia Tour

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 7 (acn) Cuban cyclist Marlies Mejías will participate in the first edition of the Colombia Tour, invited by the Weber Shimano Ladies Power, club of which she will be officially part from next January.

Recent winner of the omnium event in the Pan-American Track Championship, in Mexico, Mejías (23) will be the only Cuban rider enrolled in this contest that will be attended from today by 23 women´s teams.
Colombians Jessenia Meneses and Rocío Parrado, as well as Argentine Cristina Greve are Mejias´ teammates at the Weber Shimano Ladies Power, a project that brings together the best exponents of Latin America's women´s road cycling.
Mejías, seventh seat at Rio 2016 Olympic Games, appears among the favorites to win this race, along with Ecuadorian Miriam Núñez (San Mateo Educacion Superior) and Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacón (Cycling Girls HYF Team).
