Cuban Triathletes to compete in the Dominican Republic

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 4 (acn) The best Cuban triathletes will attend on November 13th the Santo Domingo International tournament, in the Dominican Republic, where they will also conduct a training base.

According to JIT sports publication, the athletes chosen are Michel González, Leslie Amat Álvarez and Conrado Martínez, and they will be accompanied by coaches Aurelio Romero and Dióseles Fernández.
The group is completed with Rolando Herrera, official of the tournament that includes the Olympic distances of 1,500 meters swimming, 40 kilometers cycling and 10 kilometers running.
The organizers announce the presence of more than 100 triathletes from 12 countries.
Alejandro Puerto, national commissioner of the sport, told JIT that the event will be profitable for the next season.
As expected, Cubans will participate in the Central American and Caribbean tournament and in the 3rd International Triathlon of Havana, both scheduled for the first half of 2017.
