Rafael Viñales wins the Home Run Derby of Cuban Baseball

MATANZAS, Cuba, Oct 31 (acn) Las Tunas´ catcher Rafael Viñales won the Home Run Derby of the All-Star Game of Cuban baseball championship with a stage at Victoria de Giron Stadium in this city.

Viñales hit four home runs, and was escorted by infielders Yurisbel Gracial (Matanzas) and Yeniet Pérez (Villa Clara), authors of three homers each.
The young athlete stands out as one of the major revelations in the current season of the national baseball classic by having a BA of .326, result of 43 hits in 132 at-bats during the qualifying phase.
After the sanction of the stellar Yosvani Alarcon for the rest of the campaign, Viñales went on to play a leading role within Las Tunas lineup with 31 RBIs, 9 homers, 1 triple and 9 doubles, for a high slugging of 614.
Despite the elimination of his team, the catcher will have the possibility of increasing his excellent offensive records in the current season by being chosen as reinforcement for Camagüey for the second round of the championship.
