The race had emotions from the beginning, as the Caribbean athlete escaped from the first minutes in a small group, which included two of her teammates ¨whose work allowed me to reserve forces for the final sprint, ¨Mejías told Trabajadores newspaper.
"It was my first competition defending this club and I can say it was a nice experience, she said.
"I must thank my teammates for the great work done, helping me to win on Sunday," added the Pan American multi-champion and seventh seat in the omnium event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
"I've been very well received and although the official contract begins in 2017, these first presentations are very important because it allows me to better understand the team dynamics," she stated.
Mejias also noted that on October 30 she will participate in a similar event in the streets of Buenos Aires before leaving for the Tour of Colombia, from November 7 to 12.
Then she will return to Cuba to attend the second edition of the Titan Tropic, a mountain bike race, only cycling event in which she has not competed yet.
