Cuban GMs draw in Spanish Team Championship

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 28 (acn) Cubans Leinier Dominguez and Yuniesky Quesada signed peace in their second outings at the Spanish Team Championship Honor Division (CECLUB by its Spanish acronym) held in Aragon community.

Dominguez (2720 Elo points) defends the second board of the Sestao EDP Fundacion, one of the teams on top of the standings, drew with Russian Grigoriy Antipov (2626) of the Club Magic Extremadura.
Anyway, his squad won 5-2 and now totals 3 units (one win and a tie).
After updating statistics, it became known that this was Dominguez´s 50th game of the year, with 31 draws, 12 wins and only 7 losses.
Sestao´s winners yesterday were Hungarian Richard Rapport (2752), Spanish Francisco Vallejo (2716) and Frenchman Edouard Romain (2636), while Azeri Teimour Radjabov (2722) drew again in the first board.
As for Quesada (2634), playing for the Equigoma Casa Social Catolica, he drew with the local Jose Fernando Cuenca (2529) in 32 moves of a Sicilian defense, according to the website of the event.
The Equigoma faced the VTI Chess 24 Atocha and they tied to 3.5 points after a win and five draws per side.
That was the only match tied of the day as the Merida Patrimonio de la Humanidad won 4-3 over the Gros Xake Taldea and the Solvay beat 5-2 the Jaime Casas.
Now, Sestao, Solvay and Merida are the leaders with 3 points escorted by Equigoma and Jaime Casas (2), followed by Atocha, Taldea and Extremadura.
The pairings for today´s third round are the following: Solvay-Sestao, Equigoma-Jaime Casas, Merida-Atocha and Extremadura-Taldea.
